The Centre College, in the United States of America, is accepting applications for the International Language Scholarship Awards from students at all levels of study, including graduate, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels.
Benefits of Receiving a Scholarship The Centre College will provide a grant of between $3,000 and $5,000 per year to all students who achieve academic excellence.
Eligibility requirements :
- Candidates are needed to finish two courses in the language of their choosing at the center and earn a grade point average of at least 3.0 in each subject;
- The program requires applicants to have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 in each of the following courses: Linguistics 210; two courses in a second international language; or one course in a second international language in addition to Linguistics 210; both courses must have been completed;
- Candidates need to be enrolled in a school outside of their home country.

- After the application page, you will be given the option to send in your application to Centre College using the Common Application. If your application is successful, you will be required to do so.

- Scholarship applicants who speak French, German, or Spanish are required to submit an abstract written in the primary language of the scholarship. Candidates for scholarships in Japanese, Latin, or Mandarin must write their essays in English and must answer the following question: "When you became interested in this language, which of the following did you learn?" What aspect of your proficiency in the language that you have learned do you appreciate the most? What do you think the benefits of learning the language and the culture will be for you in the future? " (500-word limit);

- Admission Requirements :
The ACT or SAT may be suggested by any interested student, and the results of either exam may be reported by the appropriate department.
Language requirements :
Candidates must either demonstrate proficiency in French, German, Latin, Mandarin, or Spanish, or they must be willing to learn Arabic to be considered for employment at the Centre. The Center will require formal scores from the TOEFL, IELTS, or the Duolingo English Test from all international participants who do not speak English as their first language. These scores must be presented to participate (DET). The minimum score required for admission to the Center is 90 on the TOEFL, 7.0 on the IELTS, and 115 on the DET.
