It was Prince Albert, the consort of Queen Victoria, who conceived of the idea for a cultural district that encompassed the Royal Albert Hall, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Natural Existence Museum, and the royal colleges. This marked the beginning of the institution's history. The fields of science, technology, medicine, and business are Imperial's exclusive areas of concentration. The primary location may be found in South Kensington, and there is also a facility dedicated to research and development in White City.
